Artist Statement

The comfort that art brings me is something that I infuse into my work by instilling love and care into all of my pieces. My work attempts to evoke comfort, nostalgia, memory, joy, and play. Ceramics is my primary medium as I treasure the connection I feel between myself, the material, and its endless possibilities. I am also inspired by oddities, the natural world, the human form, and ancient pottery. There is an element in my art making that helps me towards self acceptance. As people we are often imperfect but still beautiful, much like the things we create.
